Simon Pasieka is a German painter born on June 30, 1967, in Kleve. He lives and works in Paris.
The son of an art and religion teacher and a painter, he spent his childhood in Cologne before attending a Rudolf Steiner boarding school in Westphalia. He later studied at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste (HBK) in Braunschweig, where he was awarded the title of Meisterschüler in 1995, along with a diploma with honors.

From the late 1990s onward, his painted and drawn works have staged rituals on the margins of a disenchanted civilization. He explores possible worlds in which figures interact within landscapes traversed by forgotten remnants of the contemporary world.
Since his studies, Pasieka has developed his practice in parallel with, and in dialogue with, contemporary trends in figurative painting. His style is characterized both by the constant evolution of his subjects and by a tension between realism and formalization.

His friend, painter Thomas Lévy-Lasne, describes his paintings as composed of lake shores, wild grasses, androgynous nude bodies, and rusted metal structures, all bathed in the light of early morning. Pasieka works from imagination while adhering to strict realism, creating works imbued with a quiet, grave, and delicate poetry.

Pasieka has received numerous distinctions, including an annual grant from the Lower Saxony Department of Culture, a grant from the Niedersächsische Sparkassenstiftung, support from the Kunstfonds, and a DAAD annual grant for Paris in 1998. For the past 25 years, he has primarily developed his work in his studio in Paris’s 20th arrondissement.

He has exhibited widely in institutions and galleries in Germany, France, and internationally, including Galerie Klaus Gerrit Friese, Galerie Anita Beckers, the Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck, Kunsthalle Göppingen, Taxispalais Innsbruck, the Frissiras Museum (Athens), the Kasuya Museum (Yokosuka, Japan), Galerie Eric Mircher, and Guido Romero Pierini. Since its founding, he has been represented by Galerie Romero Paprocki in Paris.
